Rajasthani woman in a field of white flowers, red veil over her face and checked cloth, source of Jarana’s textile inspiration.

Jarana started with staying too long.

I came to India for a while and never really left.

I’m Enrique – artist, photographer and designer behind Tirtha Studio – and I love to make things. I started by making myself a few shirts. They worked, they felt right in this heat and on these streets, and they slowly turned into Jarana.

I’m constantly looking at colours and graphics from here: kantha quilts, block prints, blankets, temple walls, matchboxes, truck art, saris on washing lines. Jarana borrows from these traditions with respect, then reimagines them through my own eye.

Everything is made in small runs in the studio in Rajasthan. Slowly made, human-paced, with enough irregularity to remember there was a person behind each seam.

Jarana is for long stays, loose plans and people who feel at home between places.
